The SBEC, in conjunction with the Office of the Secretary of State and the Arkansas Ethics Commission, publishes a comprehensive "plain English" handbook for candidates running for public office. The handbook, titled "Running for Public Office", outlines, in a readable and understandable format, the legal obligations of a candidate. The handbook explains the necessary qualifications for holding public office, identifies filing procedures for candidates, and outlines candidate reporting requirements in Arkansas law.
